underwater lullaby

July 26th 2024, audio

quite proud of this one - I modified one of the plug-ins to make the bit sound myself.

I really like the piano underneath the main melody, as well as the little touches such as the farawar bell in the middle.

I think it is one of the more technically mature pieces I've composed so far.

would love to make longer pieces soon.

this is a friend of mine's cat!

she is very cute.

it's probably one of my favourite paintings I've made, if only for the sentimental value.

I think it's pretty faithful to the original picture, and it's the most precise work I've done so far painting a living being and shadows.

could use, as always, more precision.

probably need to educate myself on painting shadows, as well.

decently happy with this one.

it's about a cool crow I saw once and really wanted to paint.

I'm glad I could make something nice with such a limited palette, and that the crow's expression is pretty true to the original.

as I said in the last one, I think I could use some focus on the smaller details.

I'm also realising just now I forgot to blend the legs in - sigh.

just a small painting of an evocative view I saw once.

I really like it when towns seem to float in nothingness.

I like the contrast between the void and the light, and I kinda like how simple it is.

it could use more precision - I need to get smaller brushes if I want to continue working at this scale.

just a small piece to try out a new brush.

I don’t mind it.

it’s cute.

too much paint though, and it’s a bit flat.

I cannot overstate how glad I am to have access to my oils again.

pretty happy with the result, especially given the month-long hiatus.

I like how the colours blend into and out of each other.

it could use a bit more polish and a duller white for the lights.

I have absolutely no idea what this is or why I made it.

I guess I like how different it is from what I usually do.

I just wish it didn't feel so foreign to me.

why did I use so much black?

what even is going on in the background?

...

I really miss my oils.
